Rupea fortress - Braşov

This area has been inhabited since prehistory times. The Dacians built a citadel known as Ramidava, later repalced by a Roman castrum called Rupes. This castle was built between 13th to 17th century at the Saxon town of Cohalm (called Rupea in Romanian).
