Arbore

Founded by Luca Arbore (one of Ştefan's generals) in 1503.

Bacău

Built by Ştefan cel Mare's son Alexandru in 1491.

Baia

Built in 1532 by Petru Rareş on the site of an earlier Ştefan cel Mare church, which was on the site of an eariler church.

Bălineşti

15C church

Bistriţa (near Piatra Neamţ)

Founded by Petru I Muşat on the site of a wooded church in the 14C. Alexandru cel Bun completed in 1407, it was re-built by Petru Rareş (1546) and Alexandru Lăpuşneanu (1554).

Dobrovăţ

The monastery was founded long before Ştefan cel Mare adopted it in 1503. It was Ştefan cel Mare's last foundation.

Feleac (Transylvania)

Founded by Ştefan cel Mare near Cluj in Transylvania.

Hârlău

Founded 1492

Humor

Painted church founded by Petru Rareş (son of Ştefan cel Mare) in 1530. Frescos painted in 1535. Defence tower commisioned by Vasile Lupu in 1641.

Iaşi

Sf Nicolae Domnesc, founded by Ştefan cel Mare 1492, but burnt down in the early 19C and was rebuilt totally in 1884-1904.

Iaşi

"Trei Ierarhi" commissioned by Vasile Lupu in 1627. The whole outside is covered with carvings like a piece of embroidery. The church was re-built in the 19C.

Moldoviţa

The original church was 14C was 500m away. This church was founded in 1532 by Petru Rareş.

Neamţ

Founded by Petru I Muşat, rebuilt by Alexandru cel Bun  in the 15C and altered further by Ştefan cel Mare in 1497.

Pângâraţi

Founded by Alexandru Lăpuşneanu in 1564.

Probota (Gulia village, south of Dolhasca)

The first founding by Petru Rareş in 1530 on the site of earlier churches. The frescos were painted in 1532 but have not lasted well as the techniques were probably not well developed at this date.

Putna

Founded in 1466 by Ştefan cel Mare after defeating the Turks at Chilia in 1465.

Râşca

Bogdan I founded a wooden church here in the 14C. The monastery was founded by Bogdan II (son of Stefan cel Mare and the existing the buildings were built by Petru Rareş in 1542. The Frescos were painted in 1552.

Runc

The First church/monastry founded by Ştefan cel Mare in 1457.

Rădăuţi

Bogdană church is the oldest masonry church in Moldavia. Founded by Bogdan I in 1346, rebuilt in 1468.

Războleni

Founded by Ştefan cel Mare in 1496

Founded by Petru Muşat in a Serbian trefoil plan.

Built by Nestor Ureche in 1560.

Mirăuţi - Founded by Petru Muşat in 1390 and restored in the 17C and 19C.

Founded by the Abbot Gheorghe Movilă and built between 1584-86. The frescos were painted in 1596.

Tazlău

Founded in 1496 by Ştefan cel Mare.
