Blouse (ie) with gathered neck (cămaşă încreţită), with sleeves gathered at wrists, and frilled cuffs. It is richly decorated on the sleeves and front with vertical rows of multicoloured embroidered motifs (râuri),which have sequins attached to them. There is a narrow band of embroidery with sequins around each sleeve end and around the neck opening.
Underskirt (poale) with a row of co-ordinating embroidery on hem.
Pleated wrap round skirt (vâlnic or zavelca), also called “crăt” made of black linen material. It is richly decorated with motifs embroidered in silver tinsel (beteală). The upper part of the skirt is covered with vertical bands of decoration and the lower part has two rows of squirls with a wide row of silver floral motifs in between. These motifs are sewn onto the material using a special technique. The lower edge of the fabric is edged with a binding of pink silk ribbon.
