Description
Blouse (ie) with gathered neck (cămaşă încreţită), with sleeves open at the wrists, with traditional embroidered decoration. A rectangular block of geometrical motifs is embroidered in black across the top of the shoulder (altiţă), with a white embroidered strip below this (încreţ), and diagonal stripes (râuri) of black geometric embroidery on the front , back and sleeves. There is a narrow row of black embroidery round the neck opening.
The underskirt (poale) has a co-ordinated row of black embroidered above the hem.
Narrow woven woollen front and back apron (catrinţe). The front apron has horizontal woven stripes in white and black, with interspersed stripes with floral decoration on the black strips. The back apron has vertical strips in the same colour combinations. The aprons are edged with a black braid binding.
Narrow fabric belt (brâu) with woven stripes in red, blue, green and white.
