Fănica Luca

Born 1894 and died 1968. Luca the new generation of musicians which prevented the art dying out. He first taught in the "Barbu Lautru" folk orchestra in 1949 then at the Bucharest school of music from 1953.

Gheoghe Zamfir

Born in 1941 in Găeşti, county of Argeş in Muntenia. A pupil of the Bucharest Music School under Fănică Luca. For some time was in the "Ciocârlia" orchestra, musician and conductor.

Born in village of Ştefan cel Mare in Argeş county in 1940. A pupil of the Bucharest Music School under Fănică Luca. Played in "Perniţa" in Bucharest.

Cătălin Târcolea

Born in Bucharest, Romania, to parents with careers of a prima ballerina and an orchestra conductor. He studied violin at the Music School, at the age of 17 he transferred to studying nai and piano, and graduated from the “Ciprian Porumbescu” Academy of Music.

Vasile Iovu

Born in Bardaru village, Lapusna region, Moldavia, in 1950. Vasile studied flute at music school (now "Ciprian Porumbescu" Lyceum) and then at the "Gavriil Musicescu" Conservatoire in Chisinau. He later began to play the nai with the orchestra "Folclor".
