German regions in Transylvania 1910
Saxom cities founded

The Saxons founded cities at Sibiu, Braşov, Sighişoara, Mediaş, Sebeş, Cluj and Bistriţa dating from the 1141 - 1161 emigration from Mosel, Rhine and Lower Saxony to Transylvania under the rule of Geysa. Saxon villages cover the area from south of the river Mureş, down to Sibiu which includes the Târnave valleys. There are also German populations in most mining areas, which includes much of Banat. The majority of the Saxons and Germans have now left Romania and returned to Germany.
